The Joys of Being Me

Ok... What now?

Lab reports. Why?! I mean, they were there, they set up the expriment, why do we have to right about it?! They understand it better than we do anyway!

So yeah, this last week I've been doing lab reports. And more lab reports. And getting 72% on my diverisity exam that i had. And yet more lab reports. And missing Tae Kwon Do because of lab reports.

BUT... THEY'RE FINISHED!!!!! And handed in. WOOHOO!!!!

Was doing biochemistry from about half 8 yesterday. I thought it'd be ok, i only had aboout 4 to write, should be finished for about 6ish. That'll give me enough time to get to tae kwon do, which I ain't been to for a month. But alas, i had underestimated experiment 7. At half 2 it was the only i ha left. But then my printer decided to die. OK, so it just ran out of ink, but that's dead if you don't have a spare one on hand... like me.

So quick run to town, where i managed to spend £46 in Smiths, and that was only on printer cartidges, pen cartriges and a couple of files. So after mourning my bank balance for about 2 minutes, i went to Virgin... What?! It was just... there...

And they had a sale... and so i bought a few things, but got annoyed 'cos i couldn't find Colin hay's album... even though that's the whole reason i went in in the first place... But i did get Jack Johnson and Panic! At The Disco. And Pirates of the Caribbean...

But Birmingham have a great layout of shops... as in HMV is right next door to Virgin... So i got Colin Hay there instead. Of course i have yet to listen to it... cos i was putting the cd's onto my iPod, and i haven't actually stopped listening to Panic! At The Disco since i bought it when i'm listening to music... At this rate i think i may get around to listening to Colin sometime in June...

Anyway, got back from town, and looked at the final lab report i had. And went WTFH?! And remained like that for about 4 hours. And then suddenly i understood it. And it only took me about half an hour to do. But it was annoying cos if i had understood it straight away and hadn;t needed to go to town, i would have been able to get to tkd, but alas, i didn't.

But now i've handed them all in, i have nothing to do. OK, so that's a lie. I have a whole uni year of work to revise for my exams in 2 weeks... But nothing that is due in in a week or whatever. Seriously. I have NOTHING until my exams. I'm going to get BORED! I mean, yeah, they took me forever, but at least it was something to do, you know?

But hey, Firefly and Serenity are calling my name, so i'm going to sit down and finally marathon it all at once!

Back in Brum

Well, I'm back in Birmingham now... *silence*... Yup...

Last week was pretty fun. Went to the pub with Mamo and Lucy... We all eventually got there. Ran into Aidan too, which was cool. Ain't seen him in a while. So yeah, it was cool to catch up a bit.

Went round to Sarah's on the way to my dads on Thursday. And that was really nice. Spent about an hour just chatting on about what we had been up to, my new hair cut, uni, films, basically anything and everything. Oh. Saw Kirsty yesterday too. That was great, chatted for a bit, caught up. Was nice to see her again. Would have been nice to have been able to talk longer, but she was working and so we couldn't really. Going to have to have a big meet up with people when I'm back for the summer.

Went to see Darren Hayes in concert on Friday. And he can actually put on a concert, get the crowd involved and everything. And I ain't just saying that. He got this Single guy out on the stage, and said "we're looking for a date for Dave. So, if you're female, because for tonight for all intents and purposes Dave is heterosexual, and you like the look of him, text in you row and seat number" And people actually did. And then he got 3 of them out onto the stage and the rest of the audience had to choose who went on a date with him by cheering. And they actually did. They had a candlelight dinner from the local restaurant right there on the stage! So yeah, that was a cool night.

Went shopping with my mum on Monday. Gotta love sponsored shopping sprees. But it was all for a good cause. She's taking me on holiday to Portugal for a week in June. Just the 2 of us. For a WEEK! To PORTUGAL!! She found out that she had the place on Tuesday, so we spent Tuesday night and Wednesday trying to book planes flights online. And apparently we could only go through expedia if we went to Faro via Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA because they couldn't find Newcastle International airport... This is really bizarre as you could book flights flying TO the airport... So therefore it must exist...

ANYWAY... Eventually gave up trying to book them online cos the payment page wouldn't load up on the flight we wanted, so mum left me to do it over the phone on Thursday. So eventually we got the flights booked. And it turned out to be cheaper to buy the tickets over the phone than online anyway. We were looking at £204 each buying the tickets online, but the lass on the phone quoted me £390 for the total. Strange. But hey, I ain't complaining. Extra money to spend when we're actually there.

Course, with it only just being arranged and all, mum hasn't had a chance to inform dad and the other 2 that A) she is going, B) when she is going, and C) I will be going too. So last night when I was at dads, and were having tea, Venison steaks, And OMG was it beautiful. Had it with a nice Merlot. And that's saying a lot for someone who doesn't normally drink red wine. I've wondered off track. Where was I?

Oh yeah, as I'm having this with dad, and he's asking me about getting a job in the summer. And I will be getting one. I know that much. The where and the when and the rest have yet to be decided on. Anyway, he was slightly confused as to why I wanted the first 2 weeks of June free from work. He didn't believe me when I played the "long year at uni, hard exams, like some time off" card, so I said I’d get one as soon as it was feasible... i.e. the 3rd week of June... what with me being out of the country for the 2nd week.

And then it got even more fun, because dad asked if I was aware that mum was going away on holiday in June. Hmmm... Only slightly...what with me going too... So I told him a partial truth. That yes, I did know that she was going, and where too, because she asked me to book the flights. This is perfectly true. I just happen to be the other person for whom the flight is booked.

So then dad went on to say that I would be there with him and the other 2 for that week, and we'd have a great time and all this that and the other. And because Judi was in the next room and mum hasn't actually talked my going over with dad, I couldn't say "well actually, no I wont, I'm going too" and still get out to the pub in time. What? A girl has her priorities!

I would like to ask you a question. What is the point of milk floats delivering milk at about half 11ish? I was coming back from the pub, on the doorstep and hear this noise. So, looked around, thinking it might have been a neighbour or something, but no... It was a milk float! It just seemed so out of place, you know. M'eh.

Song: Savage Garden- Crash and Burn

Album: M People- Bizarre Fruit

Ok... I think that's me done now.

Holidays!

Song: Paradise by the Dashboard Light- Meat Loaf

Album: Bat Out of Hell- Meat Loaf

Quote: Judi: The sex was crap but the Cannibus was good!

Word: Hypocrisity- The act of being a hypocrite.

...OMG... I have some time on the net. It's not being hogged by Judi or Mark... This is new...

OK, so it's only not hogged by them cos Judi's out at yet another party and i called it quicker than Mark did, but that's NOT the point!

Let's see... what have i been up to? Well, just came back form the basketball. I don't really follow it reliously or anything, but when i'm here and there's games on i usually go with dad and Mark, and these last few games have been great. We saw the last couple of home games if the season, including the match where they became the champions. I am so glad that they won that one cos if we hadn't Mark would have been a nightmare!

We won tonight's game, meaning that we are now in the semifinal of the playoffs for, um, some trophey... The one we don't have yet... Yeah... BUT the semi/final are being held in Birmingham, the weekend after i go back to Uni, so i think i'll go along to them. Should be fun.

Was at my mum's last week, and it was great to see her again! I hadn't seen her for 3 months, and that's a really long time when you think about it. I seemed to cheer right up within a couple of days being home, didnt realise just homesick i was till i got home. But hey, i'm here now. Woohoo!

Stayed at dad's this week. House dynamics have been a little off recently. Judi and dad are either the best of friends or the worst of enemies, and it's beginning to get me down a little. I mean, yes i want dad to be happy, and if seeing Jan makes him happy then i'm all for it, but at the same time i wish it didnt cause such a rift. Judi stormed out of the house on Wednesday because at tea Mark happened to mention that dad was going to be spending some time with Jan on the Thursday evening! AARGH!

But before that she was fine. We went to the Metrocentre together on Monday, and history was made... she got her hair cut! She has never had i cut EVER, only a trim to get rid of split ends. ANd she had about 9/10 inches off, so it's now just below should, is feathered and layered, and looks really really great.

I got mine slightly cut too. Got my layers redone, and refeathered. It's a little shorter than what it was, but hey, that's why they call it a hair cut!

I forgot how much fun Crash Bash can be! Was playing it on Tuesday with Mark, and it was so much fun... OK, so i suck at it, but that's not the point! It was great to just spend time with him, y'know?

Was helping my Dad out in the garden today. Just for a change of pace or something. Helped him to dig out a tree stump thing.. i say thing because i think it used ot be a bird table or something... i can't remember... His back garden is really coming along. There is already a fruit patch and herb garden-y bit, and there's a trench where the patio thing is going to go. So yeah, by the end of it it's going to look great.

Going to the pub with Lucy and hopefully Mamo tomorrow, which should be cool. Was there first weekend i was back, but we didn;t really get to speak much, so hopefully this time we can. What sucks is that she has to go back to Glasgow this weekend cos she starts back a week before i do. But ah well.

Ok, gonna leave this here.
