Back in Brum
Well, I'm back in Birmingham now... *silence*... Yup...
Last week was pretty fun. Went to the pub with Mamo and Lucy... We all eventually got there. Ran into Aidan too, which was cool. Ain't seen him in a while. So yeah, it was cool to catch up a bit.
Went round to Sarah's on the way to my dads on Thursday. And that was really nice. Spent about an hour just chatting on about what we had been up to, my new hair cut, uni, films, basically anything and everything. Oh. Saw Kirsty yesterday too. That was great, chatted for a bit, caught up. Was nice to see her again. Would have been nice to have been able to talk longer, but she was working and so we couldn't really. Going to have to have a big meet up with people when I'm back for the summer.
Went to see Darren Hayes in concert on Friday. And he can actually put on a concert, get the crowd involved and everything. And I ain't just saying that. He got this Single guy out on the stage, and said "we're looking for a date for Dave. So, if you're female, because for tonight for all intents and purposes Dave is heterosexual, and you like the look of him, text in you row and seat number" And people actually did. And then he got 3 of them out onto the stage and the rest of the audience had to choose who went on a date with him by cheering. And they actually did. They had a candlelight dinner from the local restaurant right there on the stage! So yeah, that was a cool night.
Went shopping with my mum on Monday. Gotta love sponsored shopping sprees. But it was all for a good cause. She's taking me on holiday to Portugal for a week in June. Just the 2 of us. For a WEEK! To PORTUGAL!! She found out that she had the place on Tuesday, so we spent Tuesday night and Wednesday trying to book planes flights online. And apparently we could only go through expedia if we went to Faro via Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA because they couldn't find Newcastle International airport... This is really bizarre as you could book flights flying TO the airport... So therefore it must exist...
ANYWAY... Eventually gave up trying to book them online cos the payment page wouldn't load up on the flight we wanted, so mum left me to do it over the phone on Thursday. So eventually we got the flights booked. And it turned out to be cheaper to buy the tickets over the phone than online anyway. We were looking at £204 each buying the tickets online, but the lass on the phone quoted me £390 for the total. Strange. But hey, I ain't complaining. Extra money to spend when we're actually there.
Course, with it only just being arranged and all, mum hasn't had a chance to inform dad and the other 2 that A) she is going, B) when she is going, and C) I will be going too. So last night when I was at dads, and were having tea, Venison steaks, And OMG was it beautiful. Had it with a nice Merlot. And that's saying a lot for someone who doesn't normally drink red wine. I've wondered off track. Where was I?
Oh yeah, as I'm having this with dad, and he's asking me about getting a job in the summer. And I will be getting one. I know that much. The where and the when and the rest have yet to be decided on. Anyway, he was slightly confused as to why I wanted the first 2 weeks of June free from work. He didn't believe me when I played the "long year at uni, hard exams, like some time off" card, so I said I’d get one as soon as it was feasible... i.e. the 3rd week of June... what with me being out of the country for the 2nd week.
And then it got even more fun, because dad asked if I was aware that mum was going away on holiday in June. Hmmm... Only slightly...what with me going too... So I told him a partial truth. That yes, I did know that she was going, and where too, because she asked me to book the flights. This is perfectly true. I just happen to be the other person for whom the flight is booked.
So then dad went on to say that I would be there with him and the other 2 for that week, and we'd have a great time and all this that and the other. And because Judi was in the next room and mum hasn't actually talked my going over with dad, I couldn't say "well actually, no I wont, I'm going too" and still get out to the pub in time. What? A girl has her priorities!
I would like to ask you a question. What is the point of milk floats delivering milk at about half 11ish? I was coming back from the pub, on the doorstep and hear this noise. So, looked around, thinking it might have been a neighbour or something, but no... It was a milk float! It just seemed so out of place, you know. M'eh.

Ok... I think that's me done now.
