The Joys of Being Me

Yeah... It's me again

Well, i would have had this update posted sooner... if certain technologies would work... But alas, they have not, so i am updating now. That's the important thing right? I mean, it's not my fault that the stupid school network wouldn't load up the blogger page correctly is it? Oh sure, the page came up... I just couldn't write anything! Stupid school...

Random thought: I wonder if the cat has brought anything wired home today.

You see, so far, the cat has brought home the beginnings of an ecosystem. He's brought home about 8 voles (in various states of being alive), 3 mice, a wing of a collared dove... then a few days later the decomposing corpse of the rest of said dove... but yesterday, he brought home a kitten. And, no, not a cat kitten... a rabbit kitten. So yesterday Judi and i spent about 15 minutes trying to get this kitten out of the kitchen and released. Because the cat didn't kill it... it just brought it home. So eventually we got it out of the kitchen and released, and then Judi went about doing the praise thing to the cat. "You're such a good boy. Yes you are. Yes you are. If you bring home another rabbit I'll have to kill you because i hate rabbits... yes i will, yes i will."

Let's see, what have i been up too... ummm... Well, i haven't been sleeping that well again. It seems to come about whenever i change houses. Must be getting used to a different bed. Of course, i change house every 2 weeks, and so just when I'm getting used to whichever house i happen to be in, i change house, and the cycle starts all over again.

Random thought #2: Wonder if that vole/mouse thing is still there.

See, last night, about midnight, i woke up to this scuffling sound. I turned on the light, and there's this mouse/vole thing running around my bedroom. So i did what any other person would do upon seeing a little vole thing on the floor of their bedroom at about midnight would do... i freaked out!! Yes, i know, the image of me freaking out over a vole, can we calm down now? Thank you! Anyway, i think the cat got it. I mean, i heard the cat go mad about 10 minutes later, about 3 minutes after i heard something scrape under my door. So i think it's dead... it definitely wasn't around in the morning at any rate.

Random thought #3: so this is what it feels like to be paranoid. I always wondered.

Anyway... School has been, well school. Although A- block decided we needed a swimming pool. See, we've had some builders come and resurface the roof of A block, but the work wasn't being done over the holidays, so they decided that as the weather had been so nice prior to the holidays, they wouldn't bother putting the covers back. And because this is the North East of England, it rained. And the roof of A12, A14, and apparently A11 and Wells' office sorta, um... collapsed! So now there are only 4 working computers in A12. OK, so there were only 6 before the roof collapsed, but the school isn't going to admit that, are they? I mean, what would be the point? This way they get more fixed because of the insurance. But it makes peoples ICT lessons interesting.

Um... Oh, learning about the Plague in Biology. Something i haven't actually done since about year 7 or so... may have been 8... cant remember. Not quite sure how it relates to biology, but apparently it does. Still, it makes for an easy lesson last thing on a Thursday when no-one can really be that bothered to do anything. I swear, half of the class had gone "to look stuff up elsewhere" by 20 minutes in. In fact, only Kiri and I were actually still in the classroom at the end of the lesson.

Still, it's better than my psychology lesson yesterday. OK, so we were doing coursework, and most people had been to see the teacher about it, and i was going to see her about it after school yesterday, but she said that if we knew what we were doing we could go... so half the class left before the lesson even began. And then the rest of the class left 10 minutes later. So it was just me in the classroom for about 40 minutes yesterday. But hey, i wasn't exactly complaining... at least it meant that i could get my questions answered. Going over it, it seems that for me to be able to get the mark that she thought i should get, i have to add something into each section. So i basically have to rewrite the whole report. I don't have to redo any of the data collection, or statistics or anything, but yeah. Guess I'm going to be busy with that for the next few weeks.

Not to mention that i have got my maths coursework to finish. I thought mine was easy. It wasn't a linear correlation, i.e. It wasn't a straight line, so i couldn't do any of the tests that the rest of the class have been told to do. So i showed Johnson what i had done... and he came up with about 3 other things i had to do instead of the 2 things that i wasn't doing. Stupid Karma thing.

Random thought #4: Hey, this PC has just connected tot he internet. Why's it done that? I didn't tell it to connect to the internet. Stupid PC.

Random thought #5: Wonder if dad knows that his PC is screwed up? M'eh.

Oh, got a holiday booked for the summer! 3 weeks in the states!! wOOt!!! (I'm a little excited by it). So far, i know that we're flying into San Francisco, going to Sacramento, Breyer's canyon, Grand Canyon, and i think we're going to Phoenix, before heading to long beach, then up the coast to LA, and then flying out of San Francisco. And then having to get up in the morning on the next day to get my exam results. I don't think there is a word to describe just how unbelievably knackered I'm going to be on the 18th. But hey... 3 weeks in the States... I can forebear it!

Oh... haven't done this in ages:-

First exam: 32 days
Prom: 36 days
Last exam: 69 days
Holiday: 3 months, 5 days
Exam results: 3 moths, 27 days
18th Birthday: 4 months, 3 days
