Been a long time waiting
Ok. I know that this update is way way way overdue, and I’m sorry about that. I did actually have something I was going to post a week or so ago, but I read it back to myself and it made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. So I got rid if it and have started from scratch.
I was at work for my mum last week, and whilst I was there I may have gotten a little bit bored, and read something I found to be quite funny actually. This was actually on the keybaord of the computer (I did say I was a little bored)
WARNING: "Some experts believe that using any keyboard could cause serious injury. Please read the warning on the back if this keyboard."
It then went on to say "Using a keyboard could cause damage to your wrists, arms, neck and back. Make sure that your wrists are not resting on sharp objects. Take regular breaks involving walking around. Change activity regularly. Make sure the keyboard and mouse are within reach and you don’t have to stretch to use them." Nothing on it saying "if you type to fast you could cause cramp in your fingers." Or "Warning: Typing fast could lead to illiteracy. (And yes, I did have to use spell check for that… doesn’t bode well does it?!)
Hmmm what happens if you don’t have a mouse? What if you have a cat? Do you have to make sure that’s within arms reach? Cos I gotta tell ya, its not easy keeping Splash in arms reach… even if he is in the house and not being a dirty little stop out that he has been known to do. Ok, seriously… what happens if you have a touchpad, like I do at the moment writing this on my computer because I haven’t gotten around to getting an optical one… hey, if anyone needs birthday ideas, there’s one for ya.
Speaking of, I have promised some people that I would think about what I want for my birthday. So here are a few ideas.
1) Stargate box set (series 1,2,3)
2) Anime (ask walnut what I like… basically anything I've seen.)
3) Chocolate is always good.
4) As is alcohol (now that I’ll finally be legal to drink it… ok, drink it in public…) (Just please for the love of god don’t let me get drunk!)
5) Films (don’t mind what, my selection is embarrassingly small. Any genre, I’ll give anything a try.)
6) Cds (Again I’ll try anything, though I wouldn’t mind Joe Jackson or Bon Jovi.)
Random thought; How many files does this laptop have?! I’m currently running a spyware check, and so far I'm very glad I have! Stupid spyware on my pc… what does it think it’s doing there?! Pfft.
Been ill since Sunday. It ain't been fun. First I didn’t think anything of it, jut had a killer headache. You know, the one that feels like there’s an army marching up and down in big heavy snow boots with white hot pokers to poke at your eyes headache. And no matter what I took or how much of it I took, those soldiers kept marching with their snow boots and hoot pokers. But then I woke up on Monday, thought I was fine cos I didn’t have a headache. So I put it down to not sleeping on Saturday night. Except then the headache began. And didn’t stop. And then I was convinced something was seriously up when I was throwing up. Twas not fun! So I spent Tuesday in bed and on the sofa, wishing that the world would just swallow me whole. And then Judi comes home, and tells me to "go sit somewhere else, I have coursework to do." And I’m lying there thinking "I don’t give a rat’s arse that you have coursework to do, I’ve been lying here for the past 6 hours; you’ve been in the house for 6 seconds. You go somewhere else to do your coursework. I ain’t shifting." Eventually I did though. I went back upstairs for yet more sleep. I swear, that’s all I did on Tuesday. I slept. It’s surprising what 18 hours of straight sleep can do. I was fine by Wednesday afternoon. Woo hoo.
Found out on Tuesday, whilst lying in bed hating the world, that it was most likely that I got this goddam bug from mums place. This is what i get for helping out! See, it’s been going around her nurses. It’s not like she kept that some of her staff had been ill, heck the reason I was in was because she was short staffed because they were ill. But she didn’t mention just what this bug entailed and that there was a chance I can get it. I mean, she works in a sterile place, how the heck can bugs survive?! (Listen to me. I just did a module in biology on microbes and diseases, and I’m calling them bugs, wondering how they survived. Louis Pasteur and others must be turning in their graves… if they were buried that is…
Trust.
Trust is something that I find really hard. I very rarely, if ever, let anyone completely in. And so when and if it happens, I hope that the person I have let in wont go and throw that trust out the window. But that seems to happen more and more these days. I don’t know, maybe it’s a sign to stop letting people in. If I keep everyone out there’s no chance of being hurt by someone else. And it goes both ways. I like to think that people can trust me. To know what is so completely beyond stupid that the thought of it would never cross my mind. Guess I can be wrong there too. Then again, it could all be misunderstandings, and I’m just paranoid. Doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re not out to get me though.
Wow. This has gotten depressing. But hey, it’s what I’m thinking at the moment. And that’s what people want isn't it? Cos if its not, just say the word and I’ll lie next time, make my life seem hunky dory. M’eh.
